Technological development, globalisation, environmental issues: these are challenges that face both businesses and individuals today. "BNP Paribas, the bank for a changing world" is committed to assisting its customers to confront these fast changing issues.
The Group's goal is to constantly seek out new sources of progress by fostering fresh ideas and initiatives.
The "Spirit of Innovation" initiative demonstrates BNP Paribas determination to make innovation one of its major assets in a business where research and development already play a vital role:
- from derivative products that provide employment for hundreds of mathematicians,
- to retail banking marketing teams,
- as well as IT development services.
A strong foundation in business culture, a determination to innovate, and a pioneering spirit, all contribute to developping innovation. Innovation thus gives BNP Paribas the opportunity to express its values:
- Responsiveness to make a rapid transition from an idea to action;
- Creativity to think outside of the box and encourage fresh ideas;
- Commitment to create a working environment that produces confidence based on the visible and consistent involvement of senior management;
- Ambition to constantly seek out new sources of progress.
BNP Paribas is committed to a focused, dynamic initiative to encourage innovation in all its forms; it centres it activities around the "Innovation Awards", which are delivered for the first time during the 2007 BNP Paribas Days, a gathering of 1,600 senior managers.
The Group is also committed to organising annual events, including "Innovation and Technology Days", with the goal of internally sharing projects and achievements that demonstrate the technological, creative and industrial capacities of the Group, and which are, if possible, transferable.
